Maribel has her Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages. She speaks English, Spanish, German, Portuguese and French. Additionally, she has a Master’s Degree in Public Health. Currently, she possesses her Health Agent Florida license as well as her Florida Life License, including Variable Annuities. Since August of 2019 until June of 2022, she worked as a captive bilingual insurance broker in a call center and remotely selling Medicare Advantage, stand alone Prescription Drug Plans and Medicare Supplement plans. During the years she worked at this insurance firm, she achieved a 92% or above customer retention rate due to her dedication in providing exceptional customer service experiences. Maribel strives to make sure her customers enroll in a plan that fits their needs and assists them with any issues that may arise or answer any questions they may have. She is just phone call away. In 2022, she sold 128 plans during the Annual Enrollment Period and received an award for compassionate service. Maribel’s specialty is Medicare Advantage, Prescription Drug, and Medicare Supplement plans, Medicaid, Low Income Subsidy, Medicare Savings Program, Social Security, Long Term Care, Home Health Aide, and State Pharmaceutical Assistance Programs.
On June 17, 2022, she resigned as a captive agent to work as an independant insurance broker. After extensive research and interviews, Maribel decided to join Bridlewood Insurance Services because of the perks and resources they offer. Their support and training allows her to prospect, market and execute her plans for success. Her favorite part of the job is to meet with people who need help finding a plan that better fits their needs, and provide the education required to understand how Medicare works, what resources are available in their community to be able to live a better quality of life and enhance their health and well-being.
Maribel was born in Hoboken, NJ and raised in Manhattan, NY. Her parents are from Puerto Rico, therefore, she had an opportunity to live and study in San Juan, PR. Currently, she resides in Brandon, FL. The love of her life is her one and only daughter, Carla Aponte. She moved to New York to pursue her passion for Art. She also has a female cat named Kahlua who she truly enjoys. The minute we saw the color of her fur we instantly chose her name. She is a bundle of joy, loves to snuggle and being petted. Maribel’s favorite pastimes are cycling, traveling and cooking. She also loves serving others in her church and community.

Last year, a friend referred me to Maribel as he suspected I would benefit from a different insurance plan. Since I never hear from my current agent, I gave Maribel a call. She picked up right away and scheduled a telephone meeting for 6pm that night. She called at the allotted time and checked each of my doctors and each medication to ensure they were covered under the new plan. She explained every inch of my new plan thoroughly and patiently answered my many questions. Indeed, she did have a much better plan for me and she was able to sign me up with an electronic signature. Not only am I getting more benefits with the new plan, Maribel gave me information to help me navigate the health care system, in general. This information saved me yesterday when Walmart declined my 2025 UCard to pay for my groceries. I asked the clerk to hold my purchases while I went outside the store to call United Healthcare. Long story short, United Healthcare had sent me a 2024 UCard with my “2025 Welcome to UHC” package. UHC said I would have to wait 1-3 weeks before getting a new card. If the card came after 1/31/25, I would lose my $300 grocery benefit. There was nothing I could do, so I hung up. But then I remembered something Maribel had told me! I could go online and take a screenshot of my new card to show to the cashier, which I did! Voila! It worked! I will be calling UHC today to let them know they need to retrain their people! Maribel’s thoroughness in sharing information saved the day! I have since referred my friends to her and they are now either benefiting from a new plan or making a decision to stay with their current plan, based on information provided by Maribel. Whatever the outcome, Maribel serves clients with the same care and attention to detail as she would a new subscriber. Maribel is not only a phone call away…she is a text away, which is my favorite mode of communication. She is totally accessible! On March 31st, I started calling Medicare agents first thing in the morning as it was the last day of OEP and the last day that I could change and enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan. It was critical for me to get into a different plan that day. After calling 6 agents who did not answer or return my voicemails Maribel answered her phone promptly when I called. I advised her of my personal situation and she understood the urgency of me getting into a new plan. Maribel was aware that I needed specific Doctors who would accept my new plan. Even with a full schedule of appointments, she offered to assist me. She assuaged all of my concerns by not just doing her due diligence but going the extra step to show me confirmation that my concerns were swiftly addressed. Here knowledge of the industry and Medicare were impressive. Her work on my policy and surrounding concerns were handled impeccably and with a sense of urgency. Do yourself a favor and don't pass this professional 'gem' of an agent by. Thanks again Maribel for your attention to detail and your caring attention to my situation.
